The Department of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning was established with a forward-looking vision to deliver cutting-edge education and innovation in AI, data science, and intelligent systems. The department is dedicated to cultivating expertise in foundational theories, practical machine learning applications, and advanced technologies that are shaping the future of computation and automation.
Currently, the department offers a Diploma in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, aligned with the curriculum prescribed by the Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education, Mumbai (MSBTE). Teaching methodologies combine modern instructional tools such as digital presentations, interactive simulations, hands-on lab work, and project-based learning to deepen student understanding and engagement.
To bridge the gap between academic knowledge and industry expectations, the department frequently organizes industrial visits, expert sessions, workshops, and seminars on real-world applications of AI and ML. A hallmark event of the department is its annual technical symposium, AIFEST, where students participate in AI challenges, hackathons, and idea-pitching contests, fostering peer learning and innovation.
The Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Students Association (AIMLSA) plays an active role in organizing seminars, coding competitions, and skill development sessions to prepare students for future career demands. The department also publishes an annual AI & ML journal, providing a platform for students to present their research, case studies, and innovative ideas.
The department is NBA accredited, maintaining high academic standards and emphasizing continuous improvement. It is also actively engaged in research, development, and consultancy, leveraging state-of-the-art computing infrastructure and AI laboratories. With a focus on ethical innovation and excellence, the department aims to nurture tomorrow’s AI leaders and contribute significantly to digital transformation and societal progress.
